The paintings of Ágnes Kontra are spaces shaped by the depiction of colors and elements in nature. An intimacy infuses the canvas, painted in a diverse, sensual way. Certain subject matters display an intangible force beyond the realm of distinct forms: clouds, sky, air, atmosphere and light. They point beyond the suspected, non-corporeal meaning of phenomena, in the direction of their essential core. In this manner, her art is capable of interconnecting multiple dimensions, an organic component of which is the subjective sensations of the individual spectator.
